Using nothing but his bare hands, Ed Leedskalnin was able to build a beautiful
fortress, some say, to his long lost love. Hundreds of rumors surround Ed and
his magical stone park, so why not stop by and see it for yourself? Did Ed's
love give him supernatural strength? Did Ed discover the sciences the ancients
used to build the pyramids? While the answer is unknown one thing is certain -
Ed's Coral Castle is destine to remain a major Miami tourist attraction for
generations to come.
The man behind the castle: Ed Leedskalnin
No one really knows why Ed Leedskalnin decided to build his Coral Castle.
Stories continue to persist though, most of which revolve around Ed and his long
lost love, Agnes Scuffs. When Ed was 26 he was engaged to marry Agnes, a
beautiful girl 10 years his junior. Legend has it that Agnes cancelled the
wedding just one day before the ceremony, leaving Ed heartbroken. Most Miami Van

build his beautiful castle. What makes Ed's work of art so remarkable is the
fact that he was just over 5 feet tall and weighed only 100 pounds during the
building process. The coral that Ed worked with was often 4,000 feet thick and
extremely heavy. It's easy to credit Ed's amazing architectural feat to his
family background (he came fro ma family of Latvian stone masons), but how is it
that this tiny man sculpted over 1,100 tons of stone hard coral? If anyone ever
questioned Ed about his building process he would reply that he understood the
laws of weight and leverage extremely well. Ed even published a number of
pamphlets during his lifetime discussing physics and biology. Engineers and
scientists to this day are still baffled by Ed's creation, but don't take our

Ed Leedskalnin's Coral Castle is listed on the national Register of Historic
Places. It is truly an amazing place to visit. Ed's Coral Castle has generated

like "Ripley's Believe It Or Not", "That's Incredible" and "In Search Of". Miami

A visit to Coral Castle is the perfect way to show someone how much you love
